The Fairfield Black and Fairfield Silver football teams entered the 2024 season with one shared goal: to dominate their divisions and bring home the 6th Grade Championship Title. After months of grueling practices and an unwavering commitment to excellence, both teams accomplished just that, going undefeated in the regular season and ultimately sharing the crown as Co-Champions of the 6th Grade Fairfield County Football League (FCFL).
Dominance in the Regular Season
Fairfield Black and Silver demonstrated unparalleled skill and teamwork throughout the regular season, earning the top playoff seeds in the NFC and AFC divisions, respectively. Fairfield Black powered through their schedule with decisive victories, securing the #1 spot in the NFC. Meanwhile, Fairfield Silver showcased their own brand of dominance, emerging as the AFC’s top team.
The Playoff Push
Fairfield Black opened their playoff journey with a commanding performance, defeating Stamford Purple and Bridgeport to set up an NFC Championship clash against Trumbull. In front of a spirited crowd, Fairfield Black delivered a dominant 34-7 victory to punch their ticket to the championship.
Fairfield Silver, earning a first-round bye due to their stellar regular-season performance, faced Stamford Orange in the second round. After a hard-fought battle, they emerged victorious, advancing to the AFC Championship against a tough New Canaan Red squad. In a nail-biting finish, Fairfield Silver prevailed with a thrilling 19-18 win, securing their spot in the final.
